New indoor batting cages meet growing demand in Heber

HEBER CITY, Utah — A new indoor batting facility is stepping up to the plate to meet the growing demand for year-round baseball and softball training in Wasatch County.

AB’s Cages, founded by Jeremy and Amy Brown, opened its doors this month, offering two professional-grade batting cages in a 45-by-30-foot facility that can transform into an open training zone for team practices.

The Browns’ venture into the baseball training business grew from personal necessity. Their 15-year-old son, ranked first in Utah and 16th nationally by Prep Baseball Report for the 2028 graduating class, needed a convenient place to train in Heber Valley.

“It has been a struggle to find a convenient place to train that has the equipment he needs here in Heber City, so we rented a space and built our own cage about a year ago,” Jeremy Brown said. “That grew as we moved into a larger facility with room for 2 cages, which we decided to make available to the public. We know there is a huge need for it here in the valley.”

The facility operates on an appointment-based system with membership options for individuals, families, and teams. Members receive coded access to the facility, which is equipped with bats, helmets, balls, and tees for those who need gear. “We cater to baseball, fast-pitch softball, and slow-pitch softball players,” Brown said.

The facility’s 18-foot ceiling height accommodates various training drills, and its flexible space configuration allows for both individual practice and team workouts.
