Deer Valley offers $20,000 cat skiing experience ahead of 2025 terrain expansion
'Deer Valley Cat Skiing will provide a sneak peek into Deer Valley’s next chapter, and we invite our loyal guests to witness it firsthand,' - Deer Valley President & COO Todd Bennett
PARK CITY, Utah — For $20,000, a group of 12 skiers can buy a day of first tracks at Deer Valley Resort’s terrain expansion, nearly a year before it opens to the public.
The ski resort announced on Jan. 17 that it would launch an exclusive snowcat skiing program in February 2025. The program will offer powder seekers advanced access to slopes that will become part of its 2025-26 expansion. Individual seats are available at $2,000 per person.
“Deer Valley Cat Skiing will provide a sneak peek into Deer Valley’s next chapter, and we invite our loyal guests to witness it firsthand,” said Deer Valley President & COO Todd Bennett. “Our talented culinary teams, ski hosts and guest services staff will be there at every turn, ensuring this unique snowcat skiing experience is seamless and unforgettable.”
The day begins with breakfast at the resort’s Snow Park Lodge before guests access untouched terrain via Bald Mountain’s backside into Park Peak Meadow. Two snowcats shuttle skiers between runs throughout the day, equipped with refreshments and snacks.
Private groups of up to 12 people end their day with lunch at Royal Street Café, while individual participants conclude at 1:30 p.m. All packages include a full-day lift ticket.
This premium preview program offers an early glimpse of Deer Valley’s expansion project, announced in August 2023. When completed in the 2025-26 season, the development will more than double the resort’s skiable terrain from 2,342 to 5,726 acres. Currently, the resort operates 24 chairlifts serving 122 ski runs and seven bowls.
