Navajo craftsmanship takes center stage at Deer Valley holiday event
PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort will host its annual Holiday Boutique at Snow Park Lodge from Dec. 20-22, in partnership with the Adopt-A-Native-Elder (A.N.E.) Program. The event, which will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will feature authentic Navajo jewelry, rugs, and crafts. Proceeds will benefit traditional Navajo Elders and families, providing critical resources and support.
For over 40 years, the Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program has offered food, medical supplies, and firewood to Elders living on the Navajo Reservation. This year’s boutique will showcase the work of more than 70 Navajo artists, offering visitors the chance to purchase meaningful holiday gifts while supporting a vital cause.
“This boutique embodies the true spirit of the season—the tradition of giving,” said Catherine Bradley, Deer Valley Banquet Manager. “Through our partnership with the Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program, we’re able to honor and support the dignity and traditions of the Navajo community. We invite our guests to join us in making an impact while discovering the beauty of handcrafted art and culture.”
The boutique will feature various handcrafted Navajo items, including handwoven rugs, vibrant jewelry, and intricate crafts. Every purchase directly supports Navajo families, helping them sustain themselves through the winter months and beyond.
Looking ahead, Deer Valley has also announced the return of the beloved ANE Rug Show, scheduled for Nov. 7-9, 2025. This marks the first in-person gathering of the Rug Show since 2019 and promises an immersive cultural experience celebrating the artistry and heritage of the Navajo people.
2025 ANE Rug Show Highlights
- Showcase of Talent: The event will feature work from more than 70 Navajo weavers and artists, with opportunities to observe weaving demonstrations and participate in cultural teachings and storytelling sessions.
- Cultural Celebration: Attendees can enjoy performances by Native entertainers, including pow wow dancers and a drum group, culminating in a memorable closing ceremony.
