Community Foundation launches ‘Giving Cards’ in $5M fundraising push for Live PC Give PC

New digital giving cards aim to spread generosity as Park City Community Foundation seeks record 7,300 donors in 24 hours

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Community Foundation’s annual day of giving, Live PC Give PC, returns for its 14th year on Friday, November 15, with an ambitious goal of raising $5 million in 24 hours to support local nonprofits.

This year’s event introduces a new digital giving card feature, allowing donors to purchase cards that recipients can use to support their chosen causes among the participating organizations.

“Live PC Give PC has become almost like a local holiday,” said Christine Coleman, VP of Communications and Marketing for Park City Community Foundation. “It really embodies that kindness and generosity to uplift all of our nonprofits together.”

The foundation aims to engage 7,300 donors this year, up from last year’s 7,160 participants who collectively raised $4.8 million. A record 135 nonprofits are participating in 2024, including approximately 20 organizations joining for the first time.

The day-long celebration includes two main community events. The family-friendly Giving Fest at Park City Library runs from 4-6 p.m., featuring live music from Mountain Town Music, free tacos, games, scavenger hunts, and activities for all ages. The celebration continues at High West Saloon from 8 p.m. to midnight for the 21-and-over crowd.

Coleman emphasized that the event focuses on inclusive community participation rather than donation amounts. “Any amount is fabulous. The goal is that anybody can feel like they can take part in this and be part of the community,” she said.

The new giving card program allows donors to purchase digital cards of any amount. Recipients can use the cards to support multiple organizations through the Live PC Give PC website. The cards are tax-deductible for purchasers and valid for one year.

Participating nonprofits serve various community needs, from affordable housing and early childhood care to trail maintenance, arts and culture programs, and healthcare services for uninsured residents.

The minimum donation is $5, and repeat donors from last year will see their contributions boosted by an additional $10. Participating organizations can also compete for over $37,000 in prize money, with many offering matching grants to double donations.

Live PC Give PC has raised over $30 million in its 13-year history.
