Cold front arrives this morning with 1-3” of snow on the way
Snow showers today followed by colder air and more snow tonight
PARK CITY, Utah—A weak cold front will impact northern Utah this morning through Tuesday morning, bringing a few inches of snow and below-normal temperatures. The front is forecast to reach Park City around 10:00 a.m., bringing with it a burst of snow, followed by a lull in the afternoon and evening hours.
Snow is expected to pick up once again overnight on Monday and bring an additional inch. Temperatures will drop into the teens overnight, and a high of 28 degrees is expected on Tuesday. The Wasatch mountains should see 2-5” of snow, rapidly decreasing in snow totals the further south you go.
Weekend storm re-cap and extended outlook
Snowfall totals from this weekend were fairly uniform across the Wasatch, ranging from 5 to 8”. While not a knock-out punch with large accumulations, the recent snowfall and low temperatures have allowed most ski resorts to open or at least begin ramping up resort operations.
Temperatures will warm throughout the rest of the week in Utah, while an unusually strong low-pressure center and accompanying atmospheric river-type conditions will prevail in the Pacific Northwest, bringing multiple feet of snow across mountains in Washington and Oregon.
A chance of snow looks to return for the weekend in Utah.
