Brian Head leads the charge: Utah’s ski season kicks off with $19 lift tickets and top-to-bottom runs
BRIAN HEAD, Utah — Brian Head Resort is prepping for opening day on Friday, November 8 at 10:00a.m. It will be the first ski resort in Utah to open for the 2024-25 winter season, and resort officials say there will be top-to-bottom skiing and snowboarding ready on Navajo Mountain. Not only that but lift tickets are priced at $19 on select November days.
Brian Head is celebrating it’s 60th Anniversary this season. The Resort has grown from a one-chairlift operation in the late fall of 1964, to a popular resort destination in southern Utah pulling skiers and snowboarders from nearby cities like Las Vegas.
The next soonest planned opening days are on November 22, when both Alta and Park City are shooting to get lifts turning. Snowbasin and Snowbird both say they will open on November 26.
At Brian Head on Friday, opening day terrain will feature four trails with top-to-bottom skiing: Paradise, the Strip, Freemont, and Easy Time.
The Navajo Lodge will be open, as will the ski and snowboard school, equipment rentals, and a range of food and beverage options. A first-chair celebration will take place at 10:00 am at the Navajo Express lift.
Officials at Brian Head say more terrain and lifts, including Giant Steps Mountain will open as soon as conditions allow.
After opening day, the resort will operate daily from November 8, 2024, through May 4, 2025, conditions permitting, with lifts running from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on weekends and peak days. Lift tickets are on sale now starting at $19 on select days in November, with kids 12 and under skiing and riding free all season.
