Vampires welcome: Deer Valley’s Halloween blood drive returns
PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort is bringing back its annual “Transylvania Tea Party” blood drive this Halloween in collaboration with ARUP Blood Services.
The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Clock Room at Deer Valley’s Snow Park Lodge, 2250 Deer Valley Dr.
“We invite any eligible blood donors to participate in our annual Transylvania Tea Party blood drive to support our local blood banks,” said Emily Summers, Deer Valley Director of Communications. “Deer Valley’s HR team and ARUP Blood Services provide a welcoming, relaxed environment for participants who are available to take the time to donate and serve our local community.”
While appointments can be made online at utahblood.org or by calling 801-584-5272, walk-ins are also welcome. Organizers encourage participants to wear Halloween costumes, though it’s not mandatory. Light refreshments will be provided.
Eligibility Requirements
Donors must meet several criteria: be at least 18 years old (or 16 with parental permission), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in good health, and provide photo identification. ARUP Blood Services conducts the drive and recommends checking utahblood.org for complete eligibility guidelines.
ARUP Blood Services, a division of ARUP Laboratories, is affiliated with the University of Utah and its Department of Pathology. The organization serves as the exclusive blood provider to several local hospitals, including the University of Utah Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Hospital, Primary Children’s Medical Center, and Shriners Hospital for Children.
