Scoop and sow: Run-A-Muk cleanup events return with a green twist

Basin Recreation invites dog owners to help clean up after their pups and plant native seeds

PARK CITY, Utah — Basin Recreation is inviting dog lovers to lend a hand — and a shovel — at the Run-A-Muk off-leash area this October. The cleanup events are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9, Thursday, Oct. 17, and Friday, Oct. 25, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Dog owners are encouraged to bring their pups to the park while grabbing gloves, shovels, and buckets at the trailhead. Whether you swing by for a few minutes or stick around for three hours, all help is appreciated to keep the park tidy.

The final cleanup on Oct. 25 will feature a new seed-planting event. Volunteers can plant native seeds grown in the Trailside Greenhouse, helping to restore the park’s natural beauty.

Registration is required. Visit Basin Recreation’s website for more information or to sign up.
