Noah Dines crushes World Record: 3 million vertical feet in human-powered skiing
PARK CITY, Utah – Noah Dines, the skier from Stowe, VT who set out to ski three million human-powered vertical feel this year, has achieved his goal. Dines also has set a new world record; he broke the previous world record held by fellow Vermonter, Aaron Rice, which was set at 2,506,500 vertical feet in a calendar year.
He climbed past three million on Thursday, Oct. 24 at Corralco Ski Resort in Chile and since then he has logged an additional about another 42,000 vertical feet including several 10,000-plus days on the mountain.
“I am beyond grateful to live a life that allows me to do hard things because I want to. This year wouldn’t be possible without my sponsors, friends, family, the internet and the ski world at large,” Dines wrote in an Instagram post.

In the same post, Dines pondered a new benchmark. “A million meters loading…” he wrote.
A million meters is about 3,280,840 feet, so considering the roll he’s been on with no signs of pulling off the accelerator, the 42,0000 feet he’s skied in the last few days and nine more weeks until 2025….it will be interesting to see what Dines can do.
Word has it he might make a stop in Utah before heading back East in the near future, so stay tuned.
