Dash cam footage clears driver in viral Park City cycling dispute
PARK CITY, Utah — The moving violation citation issued to Pierce Kempton following a September confrontation with a cyclist will be dismissed officials said.
The Assistant City Attorney’s office informed Kempton that dash cam footage he submitted after the incident is exculpatory (Definition: to clear from guilt), according to Kempton’s mother, Patricia.
Kempton, 22, received the citation after an altercation with cyclist Gary Peacock on Park Avenue. The incident, captured on video, went viral on social media.
Prosecutors will send a Motion to Dismiss within the week, Patricia said.

The Park City Police Department initially cited both Kempton and Peacock following the incident. It’s unclear if Peacock’s disorderly conduct citation will be affected by this decision.
