Treasure Mountain Junior High names new leaders for final year
PARK CITY, Utah — Treasure Mountain Junior High School has appointed two new interim principals following the recent appointment of Caleb Fine as interim superintendent, school officials announced Thursday.
Ben Mueller will oversee 8th-grade students, while Isaiah Folau will be responsible for 9th-graders at the school, which is slated to close at the end of the academic year.
Mueller, in his seventh year with the district, brings experience from eight years of teaching middle school in Colorado. He has spent three years teaching computer science and technology coaching at TMJH, followed by two years as assistant principal.
“We’re in a unique position, knowing we’ll be closing at the end of the year for positive reasons,” Mueller said. “It gives us the chance to celebrate the success of our staff and the work we’ve done while ensuring we carry those achievements forward with the high school and Ecker. I’m also excited to work with more families in this new role.”
Folau, a Park City High School graduate and former TMJH student, returns to his alma mater with eight years of teaching and administrative experience. This includes six years teaching elementary school in Idaho and Draper, and two years as assistant principal at TMJH.
“As a proud alumnus of Treasure Mountain, I can confidently say that my experiences in Park City Schools have shaped who I am today,” said Folau. “I’m a testament to the amazing work we do here, and I’m excited to continue that legacy and push it forward.”
Interim Superintendent Fine expressed confidence in the new leadership team.
“Ben and Isaiah bring a wealth of experience, dedication, and passion to their roles. I am confident our school community is in good hands with their leadership,” Fine said. “We warmly welcome them as they step into these leadership roles, confident that our school remains in capable hands.”
The appointments come as TMJH prepares for its final year of operation before closing.
