The Savannah Bananas (much like the Harlem Globetrotters) transform traditional baseball into their brand of “Banana Ball.” This unconventional team combines America’s pastime with theatrical flair, featuring players who perform choreographed dances, play in kilts, and engage in elaborate scoring celebrations.
Their games are filled with all kinds of acts, from viral in-game dances to creative player entrances that might involve a pep band or a yellow carpet strut. The Bananas’ entertainment extends beyond the field, with players starring in music videos and the team boasting Dakota “Stilts” Albritton, the “World’s Tallest Hitter and Pitcher” at 10 feet tall.
While the Bananas were in Salt Lake City, they also made a trip to the Utah Olympic Park for a taste of ski jumping and aerials training, with Alexiades boasting about his very first attempt at a back flip.
One thing’s for certain: when it comes to thinking outside the box, the Savannah Bananas have no problem hitting it out of the park – or off the ski jump, as the case may be.
