PARK CITY, Utah – Firefighters were dispatched to McPolin Elementary in Park City Friday morning to extinguish a car that caught on fire in the school’s parking lot.
“A woman was driving her kids to school and as she pulled into the parking lot there was some light smoke in the engine compartment,” Battalion Chief Nelson said.
The woman was able to park the car away from other vehicles and buildings and call for help.
“The engine company arrived quickly and extinguished the fire which was contained to the engine compartment, but there was significant damage and the vehicle is a total loss,” Nelson said.
No one was injured and there was no other additional damage, Nelson reported.
