Meals on Wheels driver honored for saving elderly woman

HEBER CITY, Utah — Thomas Greer, a Meals on Wheels delivery driver, received the Busted for Making a Difference Award from the Heber City Police Department on Thursday, Aug. 29 for his quick action that potentially saved a life.

On Aug. 20, Greer heard cries for help while attempting to deliver a meal to one of his clients on a route delivering meals to senior citizens in the community. He immediately called 911, leading to the discovery of an elderly woman who had fallen in her home, with a potentially broken hip, and may have been on the floor for days.

The police department praised Greer for going “above and beyond his duties” and setting an example for the community.
