Three Wasatch High students hospitalized after e-bike accident in Midway

MIDWAY, Utah – Three Wasatch High School students are recovering after an e-bike collision with a car in Midway on Monday evening. The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 113 and 300 East.

Utah Highway Patrol Corporal Luis Silva reported that the three teen girls were riding together on a single e-bike when they attempted a U-turn in front of an oncoming Acura RDX. The driver of the SUV was unable to stop in time, resulting in a collision.

“All three were wearing helmets,” Silva noted. “Two of the girls were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance, while the third was airlifted. Fortunately, they are all in stable condition.”

The investigation revealed that the e-bike did not have the right-of-way when it turned in front of the SUV. No citations were issued, and the driver of the SUV remained at the scene, fully cooperating with authorities.

The road was temporarily closed for about 45 minutes as officials conducted their investigation.

Wasatch High School quickly responded to the incident by informing students and staff via email on Tuesday morning. The school has made counselors available to support students who may be struggling emotionally in the wake of the accident, encouraging anyone in need to reach out for help.
