Larkin Poe: The Park City Song Summit show you don’t want to miss

PARK CITY, Utah – If there’s one show you don’t want to miss at this year’s Park City Song Summit it is Larkin Poe.

The American roots rock band formed by sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell has been lighting up stages all over the world this year on the heels of winning a Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album for their album ‘Blood Harmony’ at the 2024 Grammys.

“There’s something truly special happening in Park City, and we stand by the festival’s mission—supporting mental health, artists’ well-being, inclusion, and justice. We’re excited to be part of this year’s lineup and can’t wait to let loose with y’all on Friday night!” Rebecca Lovell told TownLift, Wednesday.

Long praised as one of hardest touring acts on the road today, Larkin Poe has been celebrating their landmark year with a live schedule that includes top-billed festival appearances around the world, not to mention a stop here in Park City, where they will play Friday night as part of an epic lineup that also includes Anders Osborne, featuring Jackie Green and My Morning Jacket. Lawn tickets to the show are $98 on the Park City Song Summit website.

Hailed by American Songwriter as “a roaring, impassioned set that leaves no doubt about who the queens of contemporary Southern blues rock are, and will likely stay, for the foreseeable future,” their album Blood Harmony affirmed Larkin Poe as an essential force shaping the identity of Southern rock ‘n’ roll. They are breathing new energy into the genre with forward-thinking perspective and a decidedly feminine strength.

Forbes described their ability to write and deliver songs that reveal the shadows and light through which we pass in our everyday world.

“Even in the midst of the blues there still resides hope and joy, and Larkin Poe leads us through to that other side,” Forbes wrote.

Their music embodies a joyful empowerment that Larkin Poe hope to extend to their growing global fanbase, including the close-knit community who call themselves Kinsiders.

“They’re people who have maybe never met in the flesh but are still able to connect and commune, and they’re all so accepting of one another,” says Rebecca. “We always feel that very loving aura at our live shows, and we feel incredibly fortunate for that. It’s our highest and best purpose to be that connective tissue for others.”
