Guardsman Pass closed for repaving Aug. 5-8
It is anticipated that the road will reopen on Friday, Aug. 9
PARK CITY, Utah — Heads up, drivers: a portion of Guardsman Pass Road will be closed this week for repaving.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation, Guardsman Pass between Winter Gate and Pass Overlook will be closed from Monday, Aug. 5 through Thursday Aug. 8.
During this time no turnarounds or trailers will be allowed on Guardsman Pass Road, and all traffic, including bicyclists, will be detoured.
This work is a part of UDOT’s SR-190 Pavement Preservation Project, which began in late June.
Workers will repave SR-190 between the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and Mineral Fork Trailhead, and Guardsman Pass Road between the winter gate and the Pass Overlook. The project is expected to be completed by late summer.
