Summit County driver arrested for showing gun during road rage incident

Tesla driver Nathan Putnam, 41, was pulled over in Wasatch County after another driver reported the incident

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — A Tesla driver by the name of Nathan Putnam was arrested on Friday after he waved a gun at another motorist during a road rage incident. The 41-year-old from Midway had been accused of flashing the gun near the intersection of Interstate 80 and S.R. 40 and was arrested at mile post 11 of US 40 in Wasatch County.

The Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) said that their troopers were on the lookout for the car after the other driver reported the incident at approximately 1:19 p.m. According to UHP, the driver was speeding, warranting the traffic stop.

The driver denied the allegations of brandishing his gun, but police were able to locate a gun in the vehicle that matched the other driver’s description. This was enough to deem the allegations credible and arrest the driver, who was booked into the Summit County Jail. He was later released without bail.
