Utah’s 2023-24 ski season hits 6.7 million visits, second-highest in history

While the 2023-24 ski season was down 5% from the prior year it was still the second busiest on record.

SALT LAKE CITY — The 2023-24 ski season is the second busiest in Utah’s history, marked by 6,746,008 skier visits across Utah’s 15 ski resorts. A skier visit is defined as one person skiing or snowboarding for one day. The previous season, 2022-23, set the record with 7.1 million skier visits, far surpassing the 5.8 million skier visits in the 2021-22 season.

Nathan Rafferty, president and CEO of Ski Utah, said, “We are immensely proud of this season’s success and extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to making it memorable.”

Looking ahead, Utah resorts are open for summer activities and are focused on enhancing guest experiences through capital improvements planned prior to the 2024-25 season. This includes installing at least 14 lifts over the next two years and updating existing infrastructure.
