August 24 silent auction and live music support Sage Mountain
PARK CITY, Utah — Sage Mountain Sanctuary will host their Plant-Based Palooza, a fundraising event on Aug. 24. The event will feature live music, catered food, and a silent auction, all in the presence of rescued farm animals.
The event will include a silent auction offering portraits of the sanctuary’s rescued animals and various products, gift cards, and services from local businesses and artists. Additionally, attendees can participate in the fourth annual live Animal Sponsorship Auction, bidding to sponsor the sanctuary’s residents.
Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets for seating. This year’s goal is to raise $50,000 to build a much-needed barn. The past winter’s harsh conditions highlighted the necessity for improved shelter to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals.
Lauren Lockey, co-founder of Sage Mountain Sanctuary, shared why building the barn is a priority for Sage Mountain and the animals, “The barn will not only provide the necessary protection during the harsh cold winters and hot summers, but also includes a needed veterinary and quarantine area for hurt or sick animals. It also gives easier access to feed and water and is a much safer environment for our employees and volunteers. As you know, the winter has proved to be extremely unforgiving. It got to the point where the snow was so high from the wind drifts, we couldn’t open gates or get into shelters. The barn will house all the animals while giving us better access to them and their needs.”
