Level up in the outdoors with Wasatch Women’s Mountain Collective hiking groups, fishing clinics

PARK CITY, Utah — Wasatch Adventure Guides and outdoor apparel brand Stio have teamed up to provide a series of guided hikes and fly fishing clinics exclusively for women. These events aim to foster community and enhance outdoor skills among female participants in Park City, Heber Valley, and the Greater Salt Lake City area.

The Wasatch Women Mountain Collective’s Summer Hiking Series offers free guided hikes at various Park City trailheads. This program is designed to introduce participants to local trails and connect them with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Hikes are scheduled every other Tuesday from June through August, with the next hike set for July 30 at 5:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to wear proper hiking footwear, carry water, and bring optional hiking poles and rain gear. Specific trail details will be emailed two days before each hike to registered participants. To reserve a spot, call 435-200-4885.

In addition to hiking, the collective is hosting a Fly Fishing 201 Clinic for intermediate and advanced anglers. This clinic will take place on August 6 and August 20 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day, providing six hours of on-the-water instruction. Participants will learn advanced techniques including entomology, fly selection, knot tying, and various fly fishing methods. The cost for the clinic is $250 per person, which includes all necessary gear, and a Stio/WAG sponsored Teton Trucker Hat. A Utah fishing license must be obtained separately. For more information and to register, participants can visit the Wasatch Adventure Guides website.

For beginners, an Intro to Fly Fishing Clinic will be held on August 11. This full-day course, also priced at $250, covers foundational skills such as gear introduction, casting techniques, and river practice. All necessary equipment and a sponsored Teton Trout Trucker hat are included.

These events, supported by Wasatch Adventure Guides’ professional female guides, aim to empower women to become confident and self-sufficient in the outdoors. Additional information and specific event details will be sent via email upon registration.
