SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Rescue crews have recovered the body of a missing kayaker at Little Dell Reservoir, Wednesday morning. The woman was seen falling into the water at Little Dell Reservoir Tuesday evening, which is located just north of the Mountain Dell exit off I-80, west of Summit Park.
The woman was identified as 29-year-old Salt Lake City resident Hailey Mason, who was on the lake alone, Tuesday, when someone heard her calling for help around 2 p.m., Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera said at a Wednesday press conference.
Witnesses called 911 when they spotted Mason struggling near her kayak in the water, though she had disappeared beneath the surface before anyone could get to the area where she fell.
