Young Park City author brings fresh perspective in debut kids book

“My story isn’t just about making people laugh and inspiring creativity. It’s a symbol of how you can overcome any obstacle with a bit of humor, creativity, and a lot of determination”

PARK CITY, Utah — Ever Daniells has a story to tell, and it’s not just in his book. At just 12 years old, this Park City prodigy is making waves with the release of his debut book, “Quillbur and the Lemonade Stand Mayhem.”

Daniell’s path to authorship is as compelling as his literary creations. When he was only one and a half years old, a severe burn accident changed his life. Yet, instead of letting it define him, Daniell found refuge and inspiration in books. “Books have always been my escape and my inspiration. I absolutely love reading,” he said, drawing inspiration from series like Dav Pilkey’s “Dog Man” and “Cat Kid.”

“Creating ‘Quillbur and the Lemonade Stand Mayhem’ was a blast! I got to draw all the illustrations and come up with funny and exciting stories,” Daniell shared. His characters, Quillbur Pine and Stinker Peeyuh, navigate a series of hilarious adventures that have quickly endeared them to young readers.

But Daniell’s story isn’t just about fun and creativity. His determination to give back to the community that supported him through his recovery is evident. He’s donating a portion of the proceeds from his book to non-profits aiding burn survivors, including the University of Utah Burn Camp. “It’s my way of giving back and helping others who are going through tough times,” Daniell explained.

Daniell’s book is now available at local Park City spots such as Dolly’s Book Store in old town and JW Allen & Sons Toys and Candy in Kimball Junction. This summer, Ever will also be present at the Park City Farmer’s Market to meet readers and promote his book.

Daniell’s journey from a young burn survivor to a budding author is a testament to resilience and creativity. His work and life story serve as an inspiration to children and adults alike. “My story isn’t just about making people laugh and inspiring creativity. It’s a symbol of how you can overcome any obstacle with a bit of humor, creativity, and a lot of determination.”
