Police Log: Fentanyl and methamphetamine bust, Transit center brawl

Friday, June 7

DUI

Around 11:30 p.m. an employee from Blue Sky Lodge called dispatch to report that a female driver had crashed into the exit gate of the property. Upon arrival, deputies could not administer field sobriety testing as the individual was suffering from a migraine. Following an investigation, the driver was arrested for a DUI and property damage, and a blood draw was performed at the Summit County Jail.

DUI, Possession of Marijuana

Deputies were dispatched to a three-car accident in Browns Canyon. Upon arrival, the deputies conducted an investigation, which revealed that the driver that caused the three-car accident was determined to be under the influence and was subsequently arrested for a DUI. Deputies also located user amounts of marijuana, hash, THC resin and drug paraphernalia inside the suspects vehicle.

Saturday, June 8

Public Intoxication

Deputies were dispatched to a residence located on North Cheyenne Way for reports of an intoxicated male attempting to enter the residence. Upon arrival to the scene, deputies could not located the male individual. Deputies searched the area, and the male was found passed out in front of the complainant’s residence. The male was a minor and was intoxicated. The male was cited and released to a responsible party to which his mother approved of.

Sunday, June 9

DUI

A vehicle was stopped for multiple traffic infractions traveling on Main Street in Kamas. During interactions with the driver and sole occupant the odor associated with the consumption of alcoholic beverages was detected. The driver performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for a DUI.

Wednesday, June 12

Warrant of Arrest, Open Containers

Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to use a left-hand turn signal and for improper display of registration. The driver was found to have a state-wide warrant out for his arrest and was taken into custody. During a vehicle inventory two open bottles of hard liquor were located. The driver was Booked into the Summit County Jail without incident for the state-wide warrant and issued a citation for the open containers.

Public Intoxication

A suspicious vehicle was approached by deputies near the Tollgate parking area. The two passengers, a male and a female, were both located in passenger seats and were intoxicated. The male was extremely intoxicated and refused to cooperate with the authorities. He was placed in custody and the female was released on the scene. The vehicle was left on scene and the keys were taken with the arrested male.

Alcohol Offense

A traffic stop was performed on a vehicle on Tech Center Drive for a vehicle traveling with no insurance. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and he informed deputies that he did not have a driver’s license. A record check was done, and it was discovered he did have a driver’s license out of Utah, but that it was suspended and required an ignition interlock device to operate a motor vehicle. He did not have an ignition interlock device inside the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Summit County Jail.

Possession of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine

Deputies pulled over a vehicle due to multiple moving violations. Upon inspection, they found the suspect in possession of fentanyl pills and methamphetamine. The suspect was then taken into custody and her vehicle was towed by Moores Towing. The suspect was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute.

Thursday, June 13

Assault

Deputies were called to the Kimball Junction Transit Center following reports of a male throwing objects. Subsequently, the male allegedly assaulted the complainant. According to a witness, the assailant lifted the victim and threw him down, resulting in abrasions on the victim’s right elbow and under his right eye. The victim reported being attacked. The suspect was apprehended without incident and charged with assault.

Alcohol Offense

A motorcycle was observed by deputies driving off the road near the Tech Center. It was discovered that the driver was intoxicated and was an alcohol restricted driver.  Due to the driver’s injuries, he was transported to PKMC for a medical evaluation.  Driver was cited for driving as an alcohol restricted driver and released to the hospital and his motorcycle was impounded by Park City Tow.

Public Intoxication, Theft

Deputies responded to a report of an intoxicated person who had taken items without paying at the Newpark Hotel. Deputies located the suspect who was intoxicated, the hotel declined pursuing retail theft charges. The suspect was taken into custody for intoxication and transported to Summit County Jail without incident.
