Park City seeks firms for municipal land development in Bonanza Park
PARK CITY, Utah – Park City leaders are advancing plans for the development of municipal land in Bonanza Park.
City Hall has asked interested parties to file statements of qualifications as officials consider possibilities for developing the five-acre parcel located on the southwest corner of the busy Kearns Boulevard-Bonanza Drive intersection, which used to be home to the Kimball Arts Center. The city has set a deadline of July 26 for statements of qualifications from interested parties.
The project aims for a locally-focused, art-centric, mixed-use development, potentially including residential options, commercial space, civic uses, areas for community gathering, and spaces for artists. The development aligns with Park City’s vision for Bonanza Park as a mixed-use neighborhood prioritizing livability, pedestrian safety, and local culture, with a possible inclusion of a new building for the Kimball Art Center.
The Kimball Art Center is temporarily located on Kearns Boulevard. Originally, it was part of a plan for the arts center to be rebuilt at the Bonanza location along with an arts and cultural district in partnership with the Sundance Institute. While the Kimball Arts Center remains committed to this vision, Sundance is evaluating the festival’s future, potentially impacting its involvement in the development of the municipal land.
