Park City Christian Center to open Summit Exchange store at Outlets June 28
Revenue from Summit Exchange will aid community services and assistance programs
PARK CITY, Utah — The Christian Center of Park City’s new store, Summit Exchange, located at Outlets Park City (soon-to-be Junction Commons), will open to the public on June 28. The store will offer a variety of new and gently used items, including clothing, furniture, home goods, and recreational gear.
Summit Exchange’s inventory will be entirely donation-based, with items collected from the Christian Center’s Heber City and Park City locations. These donations are sorted and sent to the resale stores, where they are upcycled to generate revenue for community outreach programs while also providing affordable shopping options. Rob Harter, executive director of the Christian Center of Park City, confirmed that the donation locations will remain the same (E Center Street in Heber and Deer Valley Drive in Park City), but the new store will provide more space to display items, making them accessible to more people.
Harter highlighted that the revenue generated from the stores significantly supports the center’s community outreach programs, contributing up to 40% of the funding.
“The more we sell, the more money we have to support our programs, whether it’s counseling, expanding our food pantry, or helping with rent assistance,” he noted.
“We’ll have a soft opening on June 28, but we’re also planning a grand opening celebration for the back-to-school season,” Harter noted.
In 2023, the Christian Center provided $206,000 in rent assistance, helped over 200 individuals with various needs like bus passes and meals, and distributed over $4,500 worth of clothing and furniture to those in need. “Our mission is to meet people at their point of need,” Harter stated. “Whether it’s clothing for a job interview or furniture for a new home, we’re here to help.”
