Explore new summer courses with Park City’s Leisure Learning program
The Compass highlights new and established summer programs
PARK CITY, Utah — Whether it’s the copy of The Compass they’ve leafed through in the waiting room at your dentist’s office, the one that came in their mailbox at home, or the free one they walked into the Park City School District Office to grab, there’s little doubt that Parkites are already picking out which Leisure Learning classes, courses, and camps they’ll participate in this summer.
The magazine The Compass explains the new offerings for community education multiple times each year. During the summer session, they focus on programs for youth and teens. They have many more adult classes in the fall, starting late September.
New this summer is dog initiation training and puppy socialization at Premier Pet Lodge and a new partnership with Mathnasium for rising 4th and 6th graders. Those two grades, in particular, have many changes in the math curriculum “so kiddos can get a jump start to success,” Jane Toly told TownLift. Toly has been the Leisure Learning Coordinator for more than a decade. She added,
“Summer in a ski town is the perfect time of year to take a community education class on your own, with family, with friends, or to meet new people with similar interests.”
Popular offerings like babysitting training, sewing, and chess are again available as well.
