Expect traffic delays this afternoon for Vice President Kamala Harris’ Park City fundraiser

PARK CITY, Utah — Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Park City this afternoon June 28 for a private fundraising event to be held at an undisclosed location in Park City.

Deseret News reported that the Vice President is expected to arrive on Air Force Two, landing at approximately 2 p.m., and will depart close to 5 p.m.

Details of the Vice President’s route in and out of Park City have not been disclosed and are subject to change. During President Biden’s visit to Park City last summer, the route in and out of Park City was locked down for approximately 45 minutes as both I-80 and State Road 224 were closed for his motorcade.

The visit from Harris comes the day after the presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump in Atlanta.

Deseret News reported that Harris would visit Utah earlier this month, but did not state where in the Beehive State she would visit specifically. Harris’ last visit to Utah was just before the 2020 election when she participated in a vice presidential debate at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

“As the state party, we’re really excited to have them out. The Biden campaign has outraised the Trump campaign four to three on fundraising just out of Utah,” said Thom DeSirant, executive director of the Utah Democratic Party. “And I can just say that we’re grateful to have the Vice President come out again.”

President Joe Biden last visited Park City in August 2023 to attend a Biden Victory Fund reception at the residence of Nancy and Mark Gilbert, the former U.S. ambassador to New Zealand.
