Driver in critical condition after dump truck plunges 200 feet into a ravine north of Park City
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The driver of a dump truck that veered off the road and plummeted 200 feet down a gully north of Park City was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition yesterday, authorities say.
Park City Fire District responded to the report of the accident in Tollgate Canyon on Tuesday around 11:00 a.m. Rescue crews used a rope haul system to safely remove the driver from the gully, after which the driver was airlifted to the University of Utah hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
