Miners Baseball playoff run ends as region leaders, first time in 7 years
PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City High School Miners Varsity Baseball team finished in first place in Region 10, its first win at that level since 2017.
They beat Pineview in the post-season Super Regionals 2 – 1.
The team’s season ended with a 7 – 9 loss to the Timpanogos Timberwolves in the 4A, bracket 2, second-round playoff game on May 15 in Orem.
“I’m so proud of them all because these guys are more than just good athletes, they’re wonderful kids,” head coach Dave Feasler told TownLift prior to the tournament. “It was really fun to celebrate the seven awesome seniors and the immeasurable impact they’ve created here at Park City High School, both on and off the baseball field.”
The Miners Baseball team is also sending a couple of student-athletes off to play college ball, including third baseman Ashton Gertie, who signed to play baseball at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, California, and centerfielder and part-time pitcher Griff Rogers, who signed to play baseball at Occidental College in California.
