Discover the great outdoors with Wasatch Women and Stio: Summer hiking series and fly fishing clinic

PARK CITY, Utah — Wasatch Women Mountain Collective invites outdoor enthusiasts to expand their hiking circle and improve their fly fishing skills through its Summer Hiking Series and Women’s Fly Fishing Clinic. These community events are perfect for those living in Park City, Heber Valley, and the Greater Salt Lake City area.

Summer Hiking Series:

The series provides an excellent opportunity to explore Park City’s scenic trails while connecting with like-minded individuals. Sponsored by Wasatch Adventure Guides and Stio, the hikes are free and open to everyone.

Hiking Dates:
– June 4 and 18
– July 16 and 30
– August 13 and 27

Time: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Each guided hike starts at 5:30 p.m. every other Tuesday and lasts two hours. The specific trailheads will be announced via email two days before each hike to those who register on the Wasatch Women Mountain Collective website.

Women’s Fly Fishing Clinic:

For those interested in fly fishing, the Wasatch Women Mountain Collective is also offering a Women’s Fly Fishing Clinic on June 1st. Sponsored by Wasatch Adventure Guides and Stio, this full-day clinic is designed for both beginners and those looking to fine-tune their skills.

Price: $250 per participant
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The clinic includes all necessary fly fishing gear, along with a sponsored WAG/Stio Teton Trout Trucker hat. Participants will need to purchase a Utah fishing license prior to the event.

The course will cover:
– Types of fly fishing
– Fly fishing gear introduction
– Foundational knot tying and practice
– Setting up your rod and rigging
– Casting techniques
– Basic entomology
– River practice including reading waterways, line management, setting your hook, fish handling, and safety

This program is hosted by top-notch female guides from Wasatch Adventure Guides. Specific event information will be sent via email upon sign-up, including recommended attire and preparation.
