23 Utahns named to USA ’24-’25 skimo, biathlon rosters
PARK CITY, Utah — The teams have been named, including 23 athletes whose hometowns are in Northern Utah, for the upcoming year for the sports of Skimo (Ski Mountaineering), and Biathlon.
These are two Winter Olympic disciplines which are not operated under the administrative umbrella of U.S. Ski and Snowboard.

Other states prominently represented include Alaska, Minnesota, and Vermont.
“It’s great to see that many of our current Junior National Team members have come through the U.S. Biathlon development pipeline by participating in U.S. Biathlon’s Regional Select Camps and Elite Development camps,” Tim Burke, U.S Biathlon director of athlete development, said in a statement. “I look forward to seeing these programs continue to grow.”
USA Skimo is headquartered in Colorado, and US Biathlon moved from Maine to Midway, Utah, within the past year.
If the above-mentioned skimo athletes were to make the team trials cut in the ’25-’26 season, they will be among the first people to compete in their sport in an Olympic Games as it debuts in Milan-Cortina.
