Yoga for a cause: Park City event to fund scholarships for high school senior women

Women's Inspired Network of Park City (WIN Park City) champions the future of young women with yoga event

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — An upcoming fundraising event to support the education of local high school senior women is slated for April 27 at the Yoga Mastery Institute, previously Tadasana Yoga. The Women’s Inspired Network of Park City (WIN Park City) and the Yoga Mastery Institute are joining forces to put on the event. Proceeds will go to Win for Good, the  501(c)3 arm of local women’s group WIN Park  City, which provides scholarships for local high school women to pursue their education further.

Melissa Garland, owner of the Yoga Mastery Institute, stated in a press release, “We are so pleased to be partnering with WIN Park City for this event. We get to introduce the Yoga Mastery program to the community and raise funds for local high school women at the same time. This is exciting for everyone involved.” Garland emphasized the event’s accessibility, noting that “the class is for all levels and will teach the five essential poses of yoga, plus mindfulness techniques, that build strength and dramatically reduce anxiety.”

Kirsten Gunnerud, the executive director of WIN Park City and Win for Good Corp., highlighted the broader mission of the event, “Our entire mission is to co-create a community that connects, inspires, and grows together.”

Over the years, Win for Good Corp. has raised over $200,000, providing scholarships to female students from Park City High School, Wasatch High School, South Summit High School, and, most recently, North Summit High School.
