Pinebrook Fire Safety Committee to host public information event on May 4
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Pinebrook Fire Safety Committee will host a public information event at Pinebrook Park on May 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help community members prepare for wildfire season.
The free event will feature speakers from the Park City Fire District, Summit County Fire Warden’s Office, Pinebrook Fire Safety Committee, State Farm, and the Utah State University Department of Wildland Resources.
Prior to the speakers, J. Bradley Washa, a Pinebrook resident and assistant professor of wildland fire science at USU, will lead a short hike for attendees along Two Mile Creek to look at forest health concerns and the work done by the Pinebrook Fire Safety Committee to mitigate fire hazards. Those hiking will depart from Pinebrook Park at 10:10 a.m. and return by 11 a.m.
Information tables will also be set up during the event.
The Pinebrook Fire Safety Committee was formed in 2018 as a collaborative effort of the Pinebrook Master Association and the Pinebrook Homeowners Association, the two largest homeowner organizations in Pinebrook. The committee was founded with a mission to reduce wildfire risk within the Pinebrook community through professional and volunteer forestry projects.
