Hwy 224 lane closures set to end today
PARK CITY, Utah — Morning commuters have been stuck in a jam this past week due to lane closures on the southern end of Highway 224 at the intersection of Bear Hollow Drive and Silver Springs Drive. According to Kylar Sharp, the Utah Department of Transportation’s (UDOT) region two communications manager, the traffic woes should dissipate after today.
The lane closures, due to work being done by Dominion Energy, “Should be done today, but they’ll continue work for the next couple of weeks,” Sharp said. “They’re just digging and potholing over existing main lines and testing; so just maintenance work.”
While the lanes should be back open by tomorrow, Sharp did mention the potential of turn pocket closures here and there, with locations and times unavailable, but that should not affect traffic like it has over the last few days.
When asked if there were going to be more sections of 224 closed in the near future, Sharp said that is to be determined. TownLift will provide updates on upcoming construction projects as more information is provided.
