Boy falls from lift at Park City Mountain, transported to Salt Lake hospital
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Officials confirmed that a guest was involved in a lift accident at Park City Mountain on Monday morning. The incident, which occurred around 9:15 a.m. on the Canyons Village side of the resort, involved a guest falling from the Orange Bubble Express lift. The condition of the minor, who has not been named, remains undisclosed due to privacy concerns.
Sarah Huey, senior manager of communications for Vail Resorts, stated, “At approximately 9:15 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, Park City Mountain ski patrol responded to a report that a guest fell from the Orange Bubble Express.” Further details about the incident have not been released.
Park City Fire District (PCFD) Fire Marshal Mike Owens reported that emergency services were paged at 9:25 a.m. to transport a pediatric male from the clinic at Canyons Village to a Salt Lake County Hospital.
This incident adds to a series of lift-related accidents at Park City Mountain in recent years. In January 2023, a ski patroller lost their life after being struck by a snow-covered tree that fell onto the Short Cut lift. Additionally, a lawsuit was filed earlier this year concerning an accident in 2020, where a family’s daughter was injured after falling 30 feet from the Iron Mountain Express lift.
