Park City Municipal and Upwards partnership to provide childcare funding to locals
The funding will be available on a first-come first serve basis each month beginning Jan. 1
PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Municipal and Upwards announced its new partnership last week intended to provide childcare funding to local families.
Upwards is a leading childcare network in the United States dedicated to matching families with local caregivers in their area.
“We are proud of our partnership with Park City that embodies Upwards’ mission to make care accessible to all families and empower the caregivers who provide it,” said Jessa Santangelo, VP of business development and community impact at Upwards. “Upwards’ technology and our team’s expertise will be instrumental in streamlining waitlist management, providing timely family support, and ensuring prompt provider compensation, contributing to a thriving childcare ecosystem that drives positive economic impact.”
The program will offer three different scholarships and incentives to local families who qualify:
- A needs-based childcare tuition scholarship for children up to kindergarten age.
- An infant and toddler childcare tuition scholarship for children from infants to age three.
- A regulated childcare providers incentive to help support qualified caregivers.
The funding will be available on a first-come first serve basis every month beginning Jan. 1, and will be distributed to regulated childcare providers by Upwards.
“Childcare has been a priority for the Council as we have seen challenges arise around access and affordability,” said Park City Mayor Nann Worel. “I am excited to see this program help alleviate this growing need. A huge thank you goes out to our community members for their guidance and the Childcare Working Group and the Park City Community Foundation for their diligence in making sure this is a well-crafted program and serves the community equitably and efficiently.”
