PARK CITY, Utah — Slopeside Village, an affordable housing project located near Park City Mountain’s Cabriolet parking lot, celebrated its grand opening yesterday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Slopeside Village is a project of Columbus Pacific Development, whose portfolio also includes the Kimball Art Center Building, Apex Residences, and the Pendry Residences in Park City.
According to a press release, the development aims to address workforce housing challenges, and reduce local traffic. Slopeside is expected to house over 1,100 individuals in 169 rental units, many of them working in the Canyons Village. All tenants are required to be Summit County residents.
According to Deirdra Walsh, vice president and COO of Park City Mountain, the project is expected to benefit many Park City Mountain employees who will no longer have to navigate unpredictable winter conditions in the Wasatch Back to get to work each day.
“Through our master lease here we are able to house 441 employees right at the base of Canyons Village,” Walsh said. “What that means for us, is that we can create an outstanding experience for our employees, and for our guests.”
The affordable housing project offers fully furnished living options ranging from two-bedroom units to 10-bedroom, four-bathroom co-living spaces. On the Slopeside website, advertised monthly rent ranges in price from $645 to $1,050 a month, including utilities and WiFi.
