POWDER Magazine returns to print

The POWDER '23-'24 Photo Annual is now available for pre-sale online

After a three-year break, the Arena Group has announced a special print edition of POWDER Magazine, celebrating the enduring charm of snow sports and mountain culture.

POWDER, which debuted in 1972, has been a longstanding fixture in the ski and snowboard industry, renowned for its breathtaking photojournalism, captivating storytelling, and immersive experiences. SnowBrains reports that in November 2020, POWDER Magazine announced it would no longer offer a printed magazine.

The Arena Group, a media and technology conglomerate boasting over 265 brands, including Sports Illustrated, Parade, TheStreet, and Men’s Journal, acquired POWDER Magazine late last year. The eagerly awaited POWDER ’23-’24 Photo Annual is now available for pre-sale online, via select retailers, and will be on newsstands on Nov. 3.

Since taking ownership of this storied brand, The Arena Group has been on a mission to revitalize and expand POWDER Magazine’s reach, with significant investments in digital, print, e-commerce, and digital and FAST channel video programming.

Paul Edmondson, president of platform at The Arena Group, expressed his excitement, saying, “This revival not only honors the cherished memories many grew up with but also propels POWDER into a sustainable digital future.”

POWDER’s director of photography, David Reddick, mentioned, “Working alongside world-class ski photographers has been a pleasure as we strive to resurrect this iconic publication while paying homage to POWDER’s illustrious history of photography.”

500 Limited Edition Box Sets that include the POWDER 23/24 Photo Annual, a comfy long sleeve T-shirt featuring the magazine’s cover, and a low-key beanie perfect for après or wearing around town is available for online purchase ( $39.99 ).
