Tonight: Deer Valley hosts open house on Mayflower expansion, other projects
PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort will host an open house tonight on its collection of “Expanded Excellence” projects.
The most notable is the substantial expansion to Deer Valley Resort that Alterra Mountain company announced late last month: Deer Valley has incorporated the area formerly known as Mayflower Mountain Resort in Wasatch County into its portfolio.
The former Mayflower Mountain resort is no longer a separate entity, but rather a fully integrated part of Deer Valley’s offerings.
This expansion will effectively more than double the resort’s skiable terrain to 5,726 acres, and earn Deer Valley a spot as one of the largest ski resorts in North America.
Other Expanded Excellence projects include a new village and portal area, the transformation of the Snow Park base area, and the revitalization of existing facilities.
“Expanded Excellence includes a major terrain expansion that will more than double our skiable terrain, add a new portal and base village on the east side of the mountain with easy access to Deer Valley from U.S. Route 40, a Snow Park Base transformation; the final piece of the Sterns’ original vision, and the revitalization of our existing facilities with the goal of modernizing them while preserving the unique character of our spaces,” said Todd Bennett, president and COO of Deer Valley Resort.
The open house will take place on the second level of Snow Park Lodge from 4-7 p.m. To RSVP, email marketing@deervalley.com. Deer Valley’s signature turkey chili will be served at the event.
