Wet and stormy weather expected for Labor Day weekend in Park City
UTAH — Monsoonal moisture will increase over Utah and southwest Wyoming today, according to the National Weather Service Salt Lake City.
These conditions are expected to bring increasing coverage of showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain capable of producing flash flooding. There is the possibility of strong to severe storms.
This monsoonal moisture is expected to remain through Sunday.
Conditions in Park City are looking like a strong chance of rain each day through Monday and possibly clearing Monday night.
A flood watch has also been issued for southwestern Utah for Friday and Saturday. Slot canyons, normally dry washes and areas near recent burn scars are the most likely to be impacted.
Hikers and those with outdoor plans should closely monitor weather conditions before heading out. Visit weather.gov/saltlakecity for current weather conditions.
