Elk illegally beheaded at 910 Cattle Ranch
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is currently investigating the beheading of an elk at the 910 Cattle Ranch.
Summit County took control of 910 Cattle Ranch, which spans 8,576 acres north of Jeremy Ranch, after it entered into a purchase agreement with the former owner late last month. A strict no-hunting rule is enforced on the property.
According to Mark Hadley, northern region outreach manager for the DWR, the dead bull elk was discovered on Sept. 26
“Someone killed a bull elk on the property, which is clearly marked with No Trespassing signs,” Hadley said. “Whoever killed the elk removed its head and just a small portion of its meat. The rest of the meat was left to waste.”
