$425,000 Grant set to positively impact the greater Park City community

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Community Foundation recently announced its recognition of several local nonprofits. The foundation distributed a total of $425,000 in grants from its annual Community Fund to 53 nonprofits that have made positive strides in Summit County. Among the contributors, Deer Valley Resort contributed $100,000.

This year alone, the Community Foundation has awarded $2.1 million in grants, with the recent round from the Community Fund being the largest to date. The foundation also presented Sydney Reed with its prestigious Trisha J. Worthington Community Service Award.

“Syd Reed is the personification of the best of the past, present, and future of what Park City has been and can be,” said Karen Schieble, who nominated Reed. “She has lived her life in this community, has given back to make it a better place, and intends to continue to spend her senior years actively living in and loving Park City.”

Having granted over $2.65 million to date, Park City Community Foundation continues its impact through its Community Fund, benefiting various Park City and Summit County nonprofits engaged in addressing pressing community issues.

Joel Zarrow, the President and CEO of Park City Community Foundation, emphasized the critical role of local nonprofits in fostering community resilience and strength. Zarrow highlighted the Community Fund grants’ diverse needs, ranging from mental health support to youth arts and sports programs, affordable childcare, open space preservation, housing, legal assistance, and more. He expressed gratitude for the support received.

The selection process for Community Fund grants involves a thorough evaluation by a committee, which assesses community needs, conducts site visits with nonprofits, and analyzes financial information to make impactful grants.
