Park City accepting applications for Neighborhoods First Streets Committee
PARK CITY, Utah — Park City is seeking residents to serve on the Neighborhoods First Streets Committee.
The Neighborhoods First Streets Committee is an initiative aimed at bolstering community livability and safety through a comprehensive approach.
The program’s goals include reducing speeding traffic, involving residents and businesses in addressing traffic concerns, and employing evidence-based methods to assess and implement traffic calming measures.
The committee hopes to achieve these goals as part of the Neighborhoods First – Streets Program (NFSP):
- Reduce speeding traffic to enhance neighborhood safety and livability.
- Engage residents and businesses in addressing traffic issues collaboratively.
- Utilize evidence-based processes to evaluate and implement effective traffic calming solutions, considering impacts like traffic diversion.
- Prioritize public safety and emergency response interests.
- Improve compliance with traffic regulations, including speed limits, stop signs, and other traffic control devices.
- Educate residents and businesses about available traffic safety measures.
- Strive to balance transportation needs across different land uses in and around neighborhoods.
- Align with existing Council policy: Complete Streets & People-First Streets.
If you reside within the incorporated limits of Park City and are willing to take an oath of office and an ethics pledge, you are eligible to apply for this position.
