SNAPPED: Video shows Great Salt Lake before and after spring runoff

SALT LAKE CITY — A video shared today by the Utah Division of Water Resources showed the staggering difference in the South Arm of the Great Salt Lake before and after spring runoff.

The Utah Division of Water Resources conducted biweekly drone flights at the Marina and neighboring beaches to the east and west from March 18, 2023 through June 6, 2023 in order to document the Great Salt Lake’s progress throughout the spring.

“The lake peaked a couple weeks ago and soon levels will start declining because of hot temperatures and diversions,” said a statement from the Utah Division of Water Resources, “Stay conservation-minded!”
