Powder Mountain’s Mountain Bike Park gears up for another season
EDEN, Utah —Powder Mountain is revving up for its second year of adrenaline-fueled fun with the opening of its downhill mountain bike program.
Riders can take on 2-4 new trails that are built each season, catering to all experience levels from Thursday to Sunday. There are five trails open, with the Green Trail ranging just over three miles.
Lift tickets are required to access the Hidden Lake bike park, but riders can rent supplies and enjoy food and beverages and live music Friday nights and Saturdays at the Hidden Lake Hub at the Hidden Lake Lodge.
“New this season at the bike park, we will be offering private lessons, clinics, kids camps, guided tours, and UTV tours outside of the bike park,” said Ian Matteson, marketing manager of Powder Mountain Resort. “The UTV tour is a scenic ride, it is more for someone who would like to drive one with a guide and look out at our expansive terrain.”
In addition, 30 miles of multi-use cross-country trails for biking or hiking are free to use to the public. No camping or fires are allowed; the trails are open from sunrise to sunset. A guide is also available on these trails for folks who prefer a guided adventure.
“We are looking to expand our year-round offerings,” Matteson added. “With this, we are building out so we are a destination and we want to be a place where people want to fly or drive in. Families looking to get into the sport, we have something for everyone.”
The bike park and Hidden Lake Hub are open Thursday/Friday from 12-8 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Labor Day.
Full-day tickets to the bike park are $54; Thursday and Friday, 4-8 pm tickets are $44.
