Open call for local artists to participate in ‘Our Summit: Envisions’ project

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Our Summit project team and North Summit Unite have announced an open call for visual and literary artists to participate in “Our Summit: Envisions” project.

This initiative aims to capture the vibrant essence of life in Summit County, and showcase the talent and creativity of the community. The deadline for submissions is August 21, 2023, by 5 p.m.

The submitted artwork should illustrate the artist’s vision for Summit County, and answer the following questions: What does life in Summit County look and feel like? What should be preserved or improved moving forward? What makes Summit County home?

Submissions in both the literary and visual arts are welcome, and all Summit County community members are eligible to enter.

Selected works will be displayed at the Ledges Event Center in The Smithsonian’s Crossroads: Change in Rural America exhibit from September 16 to October 28, 2023.

After the exhibit concludes, the Kamas Valley Library and Snyderville Basin Library will continue hosting the selected artworks as part of the ‘Our Summit Community Visioning’ project until December 2023. In addition, all submissions will be digitally exhibited on the website.
