LOCATION: Location is at North Round Valley Trailhead in the Trailside neighborhood of Park City. Please use this address to navigate to start area: 510 Silver Summit Pkwy, Park City, UT 84098. Signs will direct you to the start/finish area.
TRANSPORTATION: They strongly encourage all runners and spectators to get to the race by riding the free Park City Bus which frequents the Trailside area. Biking or walking to the event is also encouraged as is carpooling.
SAFETY: Safety is first priority for the runners at Moose on the Loose. Racing takes place 100% on dirt and while running on trails, you can expect some ruts, roots, rocks, grass, shade, mud, and other challenges. They have tried to minimize these on our selection of Moose on the Loose courses but some should be expected.
A parent/guardian is welcome to run alongside their little moose during any race for no additional fee. Adults that choose to do so are expected to sign a race waiver.
If for any reason, runners need assistance in making it back to the start/finish area, volunteers placed along the course will be able to radio to the finish area for help.
As runners line up for their respective start time, they will be “checked out.” Once a runner crosses the finish line and the bib tag is recorded, the runner will be “checked in” and will be accounted for. This will help to ensure all runners return safely back to the finish line.
COURSE MARKING: It is of utmost importance to use that the courses are well marked and easy to follow. We utilize both signs staked into the ground, as well as colored chalk to mark all courses. There will also be a volunteer stationed anywhere there is a turn or where the course distance may split.
AID STATIONS: There will be at least one Aid Station on the Mini Moose and the Junior Moose courses. The Mighty Moose course will have at least two Aid Stations.
Race Day volunteers are needed.
Results from the previous races are available here: they include podium positions by five-year-olds Hazely Starr and Kilian Keener, and four-year-old Luca Ferrari. Also finishing fast were nine-year-olds Kathleen Mullen, Elliot Hall, and Gus Mann. And in the Might Moose Category, Davis Holder, Tommy Mann, and Henry Manning took home top honors.
