PARK CITY, Utah — Reservoir water levels are not the only thing rising around Park City after the historic snowfall from the 22/23 winter season. The base price for a day-of lift ticket at Deer Valley Resort is now $289 ( $315 after taxes and fees ). Purchase price will vary from $189 – $289 based on demand for that day. The Storm Skiing Journal reports that the early season ticket purchase price last year for a day-of ticket to Deer Valley was $259.
For all the planners out there, Deer Valley does have its early season ticket discount purchase program available; if you buy a 23-24 winter season day ticket now, you can hypothetically save between $10 and $100 per day. For example, if you purchase a day ticket for December 2 now, it will cost you $189. However, if purchasing a day-of ticket on December 2, that same day of skiing could cost between $189 and $289 based on demand for that day. So if that day pricing jumps to $289 you would save $100 if it stays at $189 you would save $0.
Emily Summers, Senior Communications Manager for Deer Valley Resort, said, “Our daily lift ticket pricing is dynamic based on when purchased (better pricing in advance) and if they fall within early, peak, holiday or late season.” Indicating that based on demand, day-of tickets may go higher than the currently available early purchase pricing.
Lift tickets for the 23-24 winter season have been on sale for a few weeks, and ski school lessons, child care, ski clinics and equipment rentals went on sale on July 11. Deer Valley encouraged would-be guests to book now and guarantee access. As Deer Valley does limit the number of daily tickets sold, it is not uncommon for them to sell out for the day during the season.
The stated Deer Valley cancellation policy says, You may change the date(s) of your lift ticket(s) without a penalty. However, if the ticket price has increased since your original purchase, you will need to pay the difference. Changes to Pre-purchased lift tickets must be made before 5 p.m. two days prior to your first ski day, otherwise, a $50 cancellation fee (per skier and product) will be charged. Lift tickets are non-transferable.
Tickets can be purchased on the Deer Valley website here for day tickets on December 2, 2023 – April 14, 2024.
Ikon Pass Holders
New this season, Ikon Pass holders will be required to make advance reservations when skiing at Deer Valley. Summers also noted “we could see earlier sellout dates during the peak holiday times.” The Ikon Pass reservations platform will be available for all destinations on the pass starting August 1, 2023.
Editor’s note: a previous version of this article inaccurately stated that the day-of ticket price will be $289 or higher. The day-of ticket price will vary between $189 and $289 based on demand.
