Crawl on over to ‘Spider Fest’ at the Antelope Island Marina

UTAH— Antelope Island State Park will host an event dedicated to spiders later this month.

Spider Fest will take place on July 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Antelope Island Marina visitor center, and is slated to be a day filled with spider-themed presentations, crafts, guided spider-seeking walks and eBike tours, community science activities, face-painting,  food, and more.

Discover and learn about the fascinating residents of Antelope Island, from Tarantulas to Hobo Spiders.

Guests are invited to show their arachnid artistry by sharing spider snapshots and submitting your original photos taken in 2023 before July 24, 2023, at midnight. Don’t forget to include the photo title, the location (state/city), and your name and age.  It has been requested that you submit your masterpiece in JPEG format with a size limit of 1 MB.

Qualifying photos will be displayed in Utah State Parks’ SmugMug virtual gallery. One submission is permitted per photographer.

Spider poetry will be accepted again this year. Submit your original poems here, and selected poems will be posted throughout the park leading up to Spider Fest.
